Rev. Jim Burrough
Rev. Burrough was born the second son to Kenneth Sr. and Lydia Burrough in 1969 in Clarksburg, WV. Rev. Burrough has one older brother, Kenneth Jr, three years his elder. The family moved to Skin Creek in Weston, WV in 1969, and to McCanns Run in 1973.
He attended public school at Jane Lew K – 9 from 1974-1984, and graduated Lewis County High School in 1987. He has three ornery children: Sabrina Nicole (1997), Brandon Scott (2000), and Cortney Elizabeth (2001) from his previous marriage. In 2013 he married Jani which has expanded his family by three step-children and nine grandchildren currently (two more is an Ironman football team).
He started ministry in 2000 and served as a Lay Speaker at McCann’s Run UMC from 2001-2005. He then served as an Assign-Supply and Licensed Local Pastor in Buckhannon (Ten Mile UMC 2005-2007).
From there Rev. Burrough served as pastor of the Burnsville Charge serving (Burnsville, Copen, Napier, Right Hand Fork, and Stouts Chapel UMC 2007-2016). During his time as pastor at Burnsville, he attended WVWC from 2007-2011 graduated Cum Laude, earning a Bachelor’s Degree. He then attended United Theological Seminary from 2011-2015 earning a Master of Divinity Degree.
In 2016 he was appointed to North View UMC, received his Elders Orders in 2019 and continued to serve as pastor of North View UMC until 2021.
Rev. Burrough began his pastorate of Gassaway UMC and Morrison UMC in 2021.
His hobbies include playing guitar, hunting, fishing, and spending quality time annoying his family.
